- What is Colloquy?
- A personal library and reading-visit tracker — you log the books and journals you own or want to read, and record each reading session as you go. No feeds, no ratings, no followers — just your own collection, kept for your own sake.
- Is this basically Goodreads?
- No, on purpose. Goodreads is a social network with a library attached; Colloquy is a library with nothing attached. There's no star rating, no review to write for an audience, no shelf anyone else can browse. You log reading sessions instead of scores, and see your collection as a graph instead of a feed.
- Can other people see my library?
- No. Every account has its own private library. Nobody else who signs up can see your books, sessions, loans, or notes.
- How do I get an account?
- Colloquy is invite-only for now — sign up with the email you'd like to use, and you're set.
- I already have a Goodreads (or spreadsheet) library — can I bring it over?
- Yes. The Import page takes a Goodreads export or any CSV with the right columns, and maps titles, authors, series, themes, categories, tags, format, and ownership automatically. Shelf and star-rating columns are deliberately never imported — Colloquy just isn't built around them.
- Can I get my data back out?
- Any time, no waiting period. The Library page has an Export link that downloads your current view (filters and all) as a CSV — the same format the importer reads, so nothing is ever locked in.
- What are the different graph views for?
- The Graph page renders your library as a web of authors, series, themes, and categories instead of a flat list — eight different ways, from a force-directed network and chord diagram to a sunburst and treemap of your category hierarchy. It's for noticing shape and overlap you wouldn't see in a table.
- Can I track books I've loaned out or borrowed?
- Yes. Each book can be marked owned or borrowed, and you can log loans — who has it, where it came from, and when it's due back.
- I forgot my password — how do I reset it?
- There's no self-serve reset yet. Send a note through the Support page and it'll get sorted out.
- Is this app going to change or break?
- It's an ongoing personal project, so features may shift over time. If something breaks, let us know via Support.
